Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) refers to a group of conditions that affect the heart and blood vessels, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hypertension. What is Obesity?

Obesity is a medical condition characterized by an excessive amount of body fat, increasing the risk of various health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension. This is a joint cardiology and internal medicine trial.

Internal medicine is a branch of medicine focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of adult diseases. Internists, or physicians specializing in internal medicine, manage a wide range of conditions affecting various organ systems, providing comprehensive care for chronic illnesses and complex medical issues. Cardiology is the branch of medicine that specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions of the heart and blood vessels. This study may be right for you if:

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are medically classified as obese (meaning you have a BMI of 30.0 or higher)

  • You have been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease by a medical professional
  • You have been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) by a medical professional
  • You are able to travel to our clinics*
