High Cholesterol (Hyperlipidemia) Clinical Trial
About This Study
What is High Cholesterol?
Cholesterol, in and of itself, is not bad for you. The human body requires it to work, and usually makes enough for itself. However, poor diet, low activity levels, and genetic predisposition can cause cholesterol levels to rise, which can have serious side effects. There are two types of cholesterol: LDL and HDL. LDL is usually known as 'bad cholesterol' and makes up the majority of your body's cholesterol stores. When you have high levels of LDL, the vessels and arteries in your heart can become blocked, which can lead to heart disease and stroke. HDL is commonly known as 'good cholesterol'. This type can flush LDL out of your system, and can even reduce your risk for heart disease and stroke. This is a Rheumatology trial.
